Here's an old brushing night method I used to do starting out. The only difference is I don't use CES anymore as my product and I brush A LOT more, because I built up endurance brushing. But here is an idea for anybody trying to switch something up!
I consider this my 4th quarter method. It's a beast and should have your arms ready to fall off after you are finished.
Just an intro, I break my brushing down into sections on my head all starting from the crown. Start with the top straight forward. Next, the back straight down. Then, I work my way back to my sides. So behind the ear is straight down. Directly on top of my ear straight down. Then my sides at a 45 angle to the temple. I do this for the right side of my head as well as the left. I know everyone has a different brushing pattern. But here's the body of what I really want to get to. Same thing when I moisture my hair. A finger tip of moisturizer for the top. Finger tip for the back. Two finger tips for the sides. Pretty sure you all know how to apply moisturizer.
I always start with combing my hair. I do this two rounds clockwise around my head. Then I wet my hard brush with hot water to soften the bristles and brush my hair 25 times to add moisture to my hair. I add my cantu shea butter growth treatment in. Do my combing session two rounds again. Then I hard brush 100 times each section. Next I add in my CES. I do the same process just like the cantu, comb then hard brush another 100 times each section. After, I grab my medium brush another 100 times each section. Then my soft brush another 100 times each section. By this time your arms should be burning (that's ok, that means you are really brushing). Then I end with plastic bag method in the direction of brushing pattern. 10 glides I do each section. I rag it for an hour. Take the rag off and go over again with your soft brush 100 times each section (this will really help your connections, because it's just perfecting now). Plastic bag it again and rag it for the night!
The whole process takes about a good 3-4 hours, so I make sure to start early in the night to get all this done. You have to put in the time if you want to be spinnin hard! Stay Wavy
