PostSubject: Taking on new challenges   Taking on new challenges EmptySat Dec 22, 2012 9:57 am

A few months ago, I made a FB post on the Facebook page, EliteKingz, asking everyone what their motivation was that drove them to be great in the wave game...I asked for a top 3, and mines were...
1. The brotherhood/sisterhood
2. The clean look
3. Recognition

Safe to say, that's a pretty good power base for motivation, but I'd like to add a 4th to that that's equally important as the others. Mentorship. Why is it equally important? Because without someone with experience showing you the way, it's easy to lose motivation for some or just simply get stuck at a certain point where it seems no progress is being made. I've been there, and I had a couple good dudes lift me up and share some things with me that helps me get passed my vice of no progress, more namely, Kado from the AP. To go along with being mentored, I have also had some recent votes of faith from a hand full of rookie wavers, which made me realize, they look up to me like I look up to some of the wave greats that came before me. I accepted their challenge to be a mentor, and will strive to not only push forward in my own wave journey, but to do my best to help those that believe in me get where they want in this wave game.

If you haven't already done so, find yourself a legit mentor, and just watch how it changes your views on things and how much more motivating it is to have the support of a highly respected waver.

Feel free to comment with what you thought about this Topic and even drop your mentor's name in here and share what it means to you to have one. Thanks for reading.

Yes Mentoring is very important. I do not have a mentor I would love to have one. However I do have a few people that I go to and ask questions. Youngwavy is someone I admire. not just because of his waves, but because of his knowledge and the ability to motivate others. He is not cocky and I respect that. I have mentored a few wavers as well. My inbox is always flooded with questions. I answer each questions I never leave a question unanswered. For me my top 3 motivation in the wave game is #1 myself I am a female waver and for a long time people did not give female wavers the respect they deserve. As a female waver I have set a high standard. #2 Brotherhood/Sisterhood that important no man is an island we all need someone to lean on from time to time. #3 Up coming wavers. They motivate me because they hold me to a certain standard and I have to maintain that standard while I uplift as many wavers as I can.

Thats the beauty of wavers like you and triz, that genuinely want to help others. We all once had roles as a mentor or apprentice, and we continue to do as we come more in contact with wavers that value similar goals in becoming great.

I recently spoke with one of my mentors the other day after not hearing from them in over a year and he was happy to see how far I came along. It felt really good to hear that directly from him.

Good luck with your apprentice's msn and I wish you well on your personal journey kb

I mean this in the most respectful way possible, but the purpose of adding a reply to this thread, is to expand on the initial subject. There is always the PM(private message) option to share your feelings about my Battle's waves. Yes, Triz is a very respectable waver and person overall, so if that's how you meant it, please say so.
