A few months ago, I made a FB post on the Facebook page, EliteKingz, asking everyone what their motivation was that drove them to be great in the wave game...I asked for a top 3, and mines were...
1. The brotherhood/sisterhood
2. The clean look
3. Recognition
Safe to say, that's a pretty good power base for motivation, but I'd like to add a 4th to that that's equally important as the others. Mentorship. Why is it equally important? Because without someone with experience showing you the way, it's easy to lose motivation for some or just simply get stuck at a certain point where it seems no progress is being made. I've been there, and I had a couple good dudes lift me up and share some things with me that helps me get passed my vice of no progress, more namely, Kado from the AP. To go along with being mentored, I have also had some recent votes of faith from a hand full of rookie wavers, which made me realize, they look up to me like I look up to some of the wave greats that came before me. I accepted their challenge to be a mentor, and will strive to not only push forward in my own wave journey, but to do my best to help those that believe in me get where they want in this wave game.
If you haven't already done so, find yourself a legit mentor, and just watch how it changes your views on things and how much more motivating it is to have the support of a highly respected waver.
